Someone musta been listening to our prayers, cause this morning (at the crack of dawn, even! before we’d had our coffee!) we got the chance to hang out in the parking lot of the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and witness first hand the bedlam of American Idol Season Six auditions. We laughed, we cried, we laughed some more. We know it’s not good form to play favorites, but we can’t help it. Of all the desperate souls we talked to, our pick was totally The Chad. If this sweater-vest-obsessed warbling sensation doesn’t have “star” written all over him, we give up. Watch our exclusive video, and give your Simon-like rating of his skills.

Where can we get more of this guy? He needs to have his own show. Not only do I love sweater vests, bagels and cream cheese, but I love cream cheese too. Please put up any more footage of hilarious people like that up on the site. That guy made my day.

Chad's Band is Jameson | 8/17/2006, 11:40 am EST
Imposter! This isn’t Chad. The real “The Chad” is a drummer for Jameson. A rock-your-ass-off groove metal band that’s like a howlitzer machine gun that shoots 500 chainsaws per second that are programmed to explode into 500 baby chainsaws when they hit you and tear you apart from the inside. THAT’S 250,000 CHAINSAWS PER SECOND. The whole world will know who the real “The Chad” is soon. The band starts recording August 18th. http://www.myspace.com/jameson theband

I call it The American Idol Mentality that has consumed the music industry in most recent times. The performers included in this phenomena either don’t have the genetically transferred ability of a Nat King Cole or a Peggy lee or a Mel Torme or a Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell. The iconic and technically adept qualities of American Idol predessesors who who had the inner qualities that separated them from today’s pretenders and ersatz “recording artists” are the real article and that is why Donovan, the Who, and the Stones appear in 2006as musical spokesman for big corporations. Where is the Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin in 2006? No performer today could even shine Neil Young’s shoes. The most recent American Idol included a very nice young lady who was valued more for the allure of her hindquarters than the admiration of her singing ever evoked. I say let Robert Plant and Jimmy Page continue making everybody in the X or Y group look bad.

“Idol” Sucks-dumb-down television-just what we need with a Stupid in office-perfect match-both are boring and it proves, “talent is hard to find”…..So is significant programming……
“Idol is stale and endless”……
Someone should End It-let’s get some intelligent programming and not our generation’s version of “Amateur Hour”-what a bore…..
*yawn* | 12/3/2006, 9:19 pm EST
this is why rolling stone sucks.. Cover music.. not these clownish talent shows.,.. This guys only aspirations are to be the next william hung..
Boring | 12/4/2006, 12:30 am EST
how lame. resorting to this idiocy degrades the human race. there are pigs better looking than this ginger twat. Not to mention have more talent. disgrace. what a knob.
JACK | 12/4/2006, 8:36 am EST
Life is too short to make harsh or critical comments…lets not be so serious.
I think the world might be better off with a few more “Goofballs” like “the Chad” Theres nothing wrong with it. Brought a smile to my face and a little giggle in my belly.
Oh wait…no..nevermind..that was gas.

At 55 I am old enough to remember Elvis going into the Army and no zip codes. We didn’t have the Web, we had live and human interaction. I really don’t thing that the present generation understands exceptional music and emblematic performances like Stairway to Heaven or Tommy, the Rock Opera. Look at the total ambivalence surrounding John Mayer. He actually elicits a lot of negative feelings among fans not much younger than he because I think they really don’t have a feel for what John is doing musically. Although I don’t like his two step fox trot when he sings in public, I think he has an unusual and appreciable style and features songs are both meaningful and evoke feeling. The misunderstanding that I sense of Mayer by some of the public is in my view what is indicative of a generation stuck in a Sahara of confusion and ignorance in interpreting what is the “timber” of a true recording artist. I saw Dionne Warwick sing Walk on By when she was in her early twenties in about 1963 and I have witnessed the phenomena that was Dusty Springfield. In some respect these girls were prodigies both physically in their aspect and musically in their genius. We just don’t have anyone like that today. I think this causes an unsubstantiated acceptance of performers who simply don’t have it and confusion and misunderstanding of those that have potential but are not there yet.

Please if you will, revisit my blogs, comments and reviews starting months ago. I appear to be prophetic in my wisdom by alerting you the the sham of American Idol and it’s severe repercussions to artists representing what was once quality and perfection in the music business. this guy they are touting now is such musical weakling that all of you should consider the agenda I furthered a long time ago in my Internet publications: Let’s get together and Knock Idol off the air with a legitimate ratings war, if you are an artist or a producer or agent who thinks they can help me swing this with the classic rock performers as soldiers of destiny, please contact me.
