WTF happened to this place? This used to be a nice, respectable page to post comments about modest mouse (the greatest band to ever start in a trailer park). Now, I don’t know, man, I just don’t know. People haven’t been making sense lately, and I find myself contimplating the credibility of rock and roll daily (your non-stop music news source). I guess it’s just like Moz said, it’s old news.(Moz is the pretentious dick who felt he needed to display his musical knowledge not even a full 20 minutes after the post of this article by labeling it as “old news”. No, Moz, now it’s old news. It’s good to know someone is keeping that up-to-date with the inner workings of a band that hasn’t had a release in almost 3 years. Not. Get a life.)For the record, Morrissey is a second rate dirt bag, and as overrated as they come.

Ive never heard of this johnny marr dude, but why are u all saying this album will suck before you even hear one frickin’ song. Maybe this album will be the best yet. U don’t know.

I like Modest Mouse, even the old-school stuff. I can’t truly say there’s one full album as my favourite, I’d need to compile a list of their best songs and put them onto a CD. Strange as it may be, I actually think one of their best is Sad Sappy Sucker.

I thought isaac was a good enough guitarist on his own. Part of what made modest mouse was isaacs guitar playing. a big part. So i have to say wtf and WHY?

how can you call modest mouse pretencious and obnoxious? bright eyes, MAYBE, but fuck no. not modest mouse. pretencious bands are like, Of Montreal, and Death Cab for Cutie. Modest Mouse is one of few bands out these days that’s making killer music, not to get some lame music video or to have a popular ringtone, just to make music. And it’s fucking killer music and you need to get your head checked.

everyone out there who is afraid that Modest Mouse’s new album won’t sound like their old stuff needs to realize that a band changes. I’m glad that it won’t sound like their old stuff because I already have the old stuff. I want to hear something new, come what may. adding Marr isn’t going to change what Modest Mouse is, he’ll just add a whole new dimension to their sound. If you want them to rehash the sound that they had ten years ago then you’re not really a fan of the band. I’ve been waiting two years for this new album and I know it’s going to be awesome.

Now, if they could just stay on their meds and get the album finished, the fans could celebrate.

So Good News was really weak, maybe 1 or 2 good songs. I’m hoping they go back in time a bit and make the music that made them really good but that no one appreciated.

modest mouse is an extremely talented band, and anyone who cant reconize it has terrible music taste, and no one cares what they have to say anyway

i don’t hate mm, and i actually think Float On is one of 2 decent songs on the last album. i began listening in ‘97 (Long Drive). mm’s songs aren’t what they used to be & live performances lack the old energy. people who were around back in mid 90’s & saw how into it mm were when they were playing in people’s houses with isaac going apeshit know what i am talking about.

I don’t understand all this Modest Mouse hating, are these the kids that found out about them from “float on”?
ugh.

mm has basically sucked since they signed. this has nothing to do with signing, though. they just stopped making consistently good music after TLCW came out, with the exception of a few good songs here and there. used to be able to listen to a whole mm album straight through.
go look at a post of old mm from 1990’s shows where isaac was skinny and into it, and now he is just fat and doesn’t seem to care. sad.

I think That Modest Mouse Is really good. I also think that the people who post here to say that they hate Modest Mouse should think things through a little bit. If they hated modest mouse or the smiths for that matter, why would they care enough to find out about their new album and who their recording partners are just to say they hate them. Hmmmmmmm? Its about damn time!!!! Isaac and the boys are back and they have picked up another stranger on this great musical journey. The next album is going to rock. I hope it reinvents rock as we know it. Evey once and a while aband comes along that changes the shape of everything we expect. Mouse has come close to doing this many times. I think now is the time they get their dues and chage the face of rock n roll. And with Marr along for the ride, Im sure their chances are better than ever.
