THE LATEST: New photos of Pete have appeared, and he looks almost not near death. He’s still sporting that lovely clammy pallor, but he’s gotten some new clothes, maybe gained a little weight and his lips are no longer the same color as his translucent skin. He also shared a beer or five with ex-bandmate Carl Barat earlier this week, thrilling half of England and bringing tears to the eyes of the UK music press.

It would be great to see The Libertines back together. One of the best bands ever. They actually got me back into rock music.

Rolling Stone gets it source links from livejournal communities now? How sad for the music press.
And this is great news indeed. I’m from the states, and I had tears in my eyes.

RS is rather paltry now.

If Pete Doherty and Carl Barat reform the Libertines, I will officially never doubt the existence of God again…

how far the mighty have fallen. please rolling stone, report on the artist not the tabloid-created villain. peter doherty is a talented songwriter struggling with addiction. why not mention how some of the tunes he’s penned are among the best so far this decade. i urge readers who do not know pete doherty to download songs like ‘time for heroes’ and ‘up the bracket’ before judging the poor guy. after all this is still a music magazine, isn’t it?

i haven’t stopped smiling since the reports surfaced.

I love the libertines!!! It would be really great for them to get back together, though Carl Barat’s new band, Dirty Pretty Things, is really good too, I still like The Libertines a lot more because Pete Doherty can display emotion better in the songs.
