- If John Mellencamp offends you, you’ve got serious stick-up-the-ass issues. Former VP Dan Quayle apparently walked out of a Mellencamp concert this weekend after Mellencamp made some disparaging comments about the policies of the current Bush administration. Just a reminder: this is a man who can’t spell ‘potato’.

- Oh yay-ness! Rhino is appealing to the universal inner goth by releasing a entire box set devoted to goth rock. A Life Less Lived — The Gothic Box is out September 19th and will feature tracks by Bauhaus (duh), Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Love and Rockets, the Cure, the Birthday Party and so on.
- Maybe the relentless suing of tabloids by celebrities is finally taking a toll? Or not. Though the British edition of The National Enquirer published an apology and retraction on Tuesday for reporting that Britney and K Fed were on the brink of splitting up, turns out it just part of a no cash settlement her lawyers brokered. World: Britney still loves her penny-saving man.
- Just in case you’ve never done this before, Google video allows you to watch The Wizard of Oz in synch with Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Twinkies and microwaveable burritos sold separately.
