Sirius satellite radio DJ Frank DeCaro will usher in gay pride weekend 2006 by playing his picks for the top ten gayest songs ever. According to DeCaro “Bosom Buddies”, written by Jerry Herman and sung by Lucille Ball and Bea Arthur as part of the soundtrack for the 1974 movie version of Mame is in at number one. Other tracks that make the list: “It’s Raining Men” by the Weather Girls (number nine), “Dancing Queen” by ABBA (number three), “Handsome Devil” by the Smiths, and “Boys Keep Swinging” by Bowie, which tied for number ten. Any other suggestions?

I am what I am
I don’t want praise I don’t want pity
I bang my own drum
Some think it’s noise I think it’s pretty
And so what if I love each sparkle and each bangle
Why not see things from a different angle
Your life is a shame
Till you can shout out I am what I am….

“Rosanna” by TOTO
All I wanna do when I wake up in the morning is see you eyes
Rosanna, Rosanna
I never thought that a girl like you could ever care for me, Rosanna
All I wanna do in the middle of the evening is hold you tight
Rosanna, Rosanna
I didn’t know you were looking for more than I could ever be
Chorus:
Not quite a year since she went away, Rosanna yeah
Now she’s gone and I have to say
Meet you all the way, meet you all the way, Rosanna yeah
Meet you all the way, meet you all the way, Rosanna yeah
I can see your face still shining through the window on the other side
Rosanna, Rosanna
I didn’t know that a girl like you could make me feel so sad, Rosanna
All I wanna tell you is now you’ll never ever have to compromise
Rosanna, Rosanna
I never thought that losing you could ever hurt so bad
Chorus
(Instrumental break)
Chorus
Meet you all the way, meet you all the way, Rosanna yeah
Meet you all the way, meet you all the way, Rosanna yeah

the way his collar fals-saves the day
Leif and I are on the train to New York in car 1399.
There’s a guy with a quarter in his ear
and I’ve seen Leif only once in the past two months.
His hair is sticking up a little in the front. He’s losing it just a bit.
When I get home tonight I’ll miss him in Hampshire.
I’ll miss his glasses and the way he writes in purple pen,
the way his collar falls to the left.
Have you seen his ankles lately?
I know he’s next to me.
I feel his sweater here,
but when I’m sleeping it’s only green sheets and the hair down my legs.
I think I’ll write you, Leif, when I’m near Tuesday,
sometime before you go and I’m back on the train.

B-hurricane | 6/26/2006, 10:05 am EST
The song rocks, but Rough Boys by Pete Townshend. A rock hero, but you’ve got to admit he likes boys (sometimes young ones).
I also agree with Shiny Happy People–that made even me want to grab some guy’s ass.
Tab Lloyd | 6/26/2006, 10:46 am EST
Definitely “How Do Ya Like Me Now” by Toby Keith.
creedalingus | 6/26/2006, 11:13 am EST
Scott Stapp defines the genre.
El_Scorcho | 6/26/2006, 11:57 am EST
Absolutely. “Michael” by Franz Ferdinand should take the prize.
“This is what I am, I am a man, so come and dance with me, Michael.”
Not to mention, in concert they’ve been known to change the lyrics to “come all over me, Michael.”
JJ | 6/26/2006, 12:06 pm EST
april lavigne’s “complicated” and ” i’m with you”. Look closer at the videos… you’ll see
Kalvatron | 6/26/2006, 12:19 pm EST
“Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” by Toby Keith…I’m not suggesting that he’s compensating, I’m just saying that the song makes me want to have sex with Toby Keith…which was his intention all along…

Ok seriously…Lola by the Kinks is not a gay song…just about gays! Secondly they are asking for songs that are just plainly GAY! not sang by gays! So if you want a gay song listen to MacArthur Park by Richard Harris is not only the gayest song I have ever heard but also one of the most boring! A cake that he left out in the rain with the sweet green icing flowing…MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE HE LEFT IT IN THE F____ING RAIN!
