Looking like a younger, blonder, nuttier Karen O, Be Your Own Pet’s Jemina Pearl and her fellow Tennessee teenage terrors delivered a blazing set last night at New York’s packed Knitting Factory. Danny Masterson, labelmate Michael Pitt and label boss Thurston Moore were in the house to witness the noisy, art-rock spectacle. The highlight had to be the finale, during which Pearl tore into the crowd flailing her arms around and knocking over people’s beers; the poorly-mustachioed bassist also stage-dived, and the band brought up members of audience –- most of whom appeared to be hip 10th graders -– onto the stage. As somebody once said a long time ago, the kids are alright.
