Truly an outstanding movie. The acting was phenomenal, the screenplay was brilliant, and the concept was executed perfectly. Hugo Weaving was extremely convincing as an actor through his ability to conceal himself behind a concept. The viewer felt for the character despite the attrocities it commited against others. It was able to suspend its disbelief for the greater good. A must-see. It is a movie that may alter the perspective of those of us who experienced 9/11, war in general, and our country as a whole. If it doesn't alter or inspire it, it certainly will provoke it.

Has to be my favourite film so far. The symbology behind the mask, the speech after the first fight scene, the fascist government is all overwhellming and moving. It reminds us that this country/world is in fact capable of such atrocities yet there are those, albeit not as dramatized, who do stand up for what's right and decent and will not be beaten down by fear. A good lesson to us all.

The Word from Boston at the AMC Loews Boston Common 19. Audience watched in a kind of detached way. We weren't aware the United Kingdom deserved this kind of treatment. Hard to believe that 2 people threw a revolution and this many people came. The movie played like bad Kubrick, over-orchestrated, too wordy, wearing large themes on its sleeves. Audience reaction did not rise to the film's budget. Fortunately for us guys, Natalie Portman is cute as a button here, and looks very good in pants. Better go with a crowd that's into graphic novels. They'll have something to say after this movie's over.

I am a non-agenda, independent, 67 year old. V blew me away. There were tears rolling down my cheeks while I was sucking air from over heating. BRAVO!. I'll leave it to the more articulate to critique the subtleties but it gets my vote for BLOW ME AWAY for the year!

As someone who is, to say the least, not crazy about the Bush administration (and if you're a fan of the Constitution and what this country's about, mind you that shouldn't matter), I was greatly inspired by this movie. I hope it gets the message across that disent is a great thing! I'm ready to put a mask on and march to the White House!

This is the most important movie I may have ever seen. And timely. It's interesting to learn that it was written in 1989, and not post 9-11. Never have I seen a more accurate portrayal of what is actually happening in the world today. Of course, all the idea are stolen from Grant Morrison's epic graphic novel, The Invisibles... in true Wachowski Bros. style. But he doesn't seem to mind. Like Allen Moore (who actually wrote V for Vendetta) Morrison admits that these stories are made to be stolen and reworked. Nobody owns these ideas... we ALL own them! And that's the most important point about this movie... ideas can not be killed. People know that there is something terribly wrong with America today and we ALL have to do something about it if anything is to change.
My favorite quote from the movie is from the government detective asking his partner, "What if our government was really responsible for killing all those people (and not the terrorist as they claim)... would you want to know?"
So... would you?

This film is a refreshing addition to films like Syriana and Good Night and Good Luck. It's Orwellian in that doublespeak and BTN (british news tv) are one in the same. This film absolutely piledrives the concept that conformity and subservience are closest to godliness. Religion and hatred walk hand in hand here, and one need only look at the current administration's allegiance to Christian fundamentalism for a reality check. What's fantastic about this film is that it begs the viewer to have conviction and a conscience in our ideals and actions. I fear that political somnambulance and our addiction to convenience have overcome our spiritual compass. Kudos to the Wachowski's for creating relevant political commentary in an action format that will hopefully inspire and awaken.
