The reviewer seems more interested in whether Linkin Park's political views match those of Rolling Stone than the quality of the music.
When you look back on this review 10 years from now and realize how bad this album really is, you'll feel ashamed that you based your review on your agreement with Chester's politics rather than the fact that LP's music continues to lower the bar for faux nu metal. How much lower can it go?
And how much lower into the polarizing political abyss can Rolling Stone go?

Has no one noticed that all Linkin Park sounds the same? Calling this music is an insult to REAL music. I can no longer tolerate this band and the whiny, sniveling, hypocritical lyrics they spit out at a whim. We understand, Linkin Park, your basic story. You've been short-changed. People want you to be something other than what you are. Honestly though, it's been a few years... still "singing" about the same monotonous topics? If you want your ears to bleed, this is the album for you. Otherwise... run. Far, far away.

hahahahahahahahaha! some people gave it 5 stars hahahahahaha.Man you have got NO idea,no friggin clue of what is a good album. But well you know what they say,to each his own.
I'll tell you this I'm a metal fan, always been, always will be(I'm 30 by the way).I started with maiden, then went on to several bands from power metal to grind core including death metal and goth as well, love tool, perfect circle anything manyard puts his hands on,I love NIN and some other industrial rock, also Rob zombie, white zombie etc.Of couse I like classic rock, led zeppelin deep purple,jimmi,jannis,who,cream..you name itI own so many different albums and so many different styles you'd be surprised in what you find in my collection ,but of course had my period of new metal, rap metal because if you know about anything of music you know that from a lot of crap you can always rescue something.
Linking park did this, they were fresh, they were energetic, different in a certain way.
First album, magic.Second album very good(a little short for my taste)
and this one hahaha this is utter crap, this is what I did,I went to buy it but had a few spins before, soooooo I ended up buying megadeth's new album.Needless to say how disappointed I was by LP new album. It was like listening to my chemical romance gahahahahaha i hated it and i will always do so,oh and for those about to bark because I only heard it one...wait...an unfortunate friend did buy it I borrowed to see if It was me .. and the only thing that happened was the confirmation of how crappy it is.Big let down, hope they learn from the fans and not RS reviews
i give it 2 stars because there are a couple of decent songs but that's no enough for me

This album may not be like the old Linkin Park, but they continue to make great music. I like their old and new music. I've liked Linkin Park since the beginning, and they haven't disappointed me at all. I listen to this CD each and every day and I love it! This is definitely an album that deserves a Grammy.

It makes me angry when peaople consider this "music". Linkin Park would sound much, MUCH better if they were all thrown into a gasoline tank and lit on fire. Atleast maybe then they'd make a descent sound. You wanna listen to real music? Buy a Who or Led Zeppelin album and listen to it, then tell me whats better. Shame young people have been brainwashed with this nightmare. I'm only 15, but I'm able to realize what MUSIC is and this is not. Got it? Good.

I think Minutes to Midnight is one of LP's best album's because they reinvent themself, and by using a softer style and some fantastic lyric's, they make an excellent album, However, I think that the bonustrack, No Roads Left, should be on the album as one of the maintracks.... no further comments ;)
