The odd-couple joke is right up front: Will Ferrell as Chazz Michael Michaels, the skater as macho slob, and John Heder as Jimmy MacElroy, the twit on ice. “You look like a fifteen-year-old girl, only not hot,” says Chazz to Jimmy. When a brawl at the 2002 World Figure Skating Championships gets them banned from the sport, they find a loophole that allows them to compete as the first-ever male pair. That’s the one joke, with crotch and gay bits aplenty, on which Ferrell and Heder spin comic variations until the script leaves them dizzy from the strain. Directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck distract us with tricky stunts. And the villains, an incestuous brother and sister played by real-life marrieds Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are a hoot. And Office honey Jenna Fischer is welcome as Jimmy’s love. But Blades takes a hard fall long before it can even nab a medal for fluff.

Yes the movie was a little dry here and there, but Will and John work well together and the movies was pretty funny, but definatly not a classic.

This movie was hilarious. I agree that the storyline wasn't the best and that is why it will not be a classic but as a comedy it is a good movie. Sometimes you get tired of the gay bits but nevertheless I thought Will Ferrell and the guy from Napoleon Dynamite were great together on screen. A very funny pair.

Look, I loved Talladega Nights, Anchorman and the like, but Blade of Glory totally insulted me. I am supposed to think "getting hit in the balls" jokes are still funny? I'm supposed to laugh at the horribly akward character of Jenna Fischer, an adult woman, being forced into sexual situations against her will? If the offesive material of this movie was even close to funny, I wouldn't be complaining.

I don't understand how you can give this movie a bad review. The bottom line is that it makes you laugh and I don't understand how you can watch this movie and not be laughing all through out it. John Heder and Will Ferrell work perfectly together just because of their polar opposites and simply watching them makes you laugh enough. Even as predictable as the plot is, I haven't laughed so hard in a movie in a long time and I think that its bullshit to discredit it.
