Pulse
Starring: Haruhiko Kato, Kumiko Aso, Koyuki, Kurume Arisaka, Masatoshi Matsuo
Directed by: Kiyoshi Kurosawa
Horror
It won't be easy to find a theater showing this new J-horror classic from director Kiyoshi Kurosawa (no relation to the great Akira). But it's worth dropping whatever you're doing to start the search. While crap like The Fog litters the multiplex, Kurosawa has to fight the amateurs for attention. Set in a sterile office building in Tokyo, the film concerns a computer virus and a rash of suicides. And that's all I'll say. Just know that Pulse possesses the dark art to make your pulse pound and your hair stand on end -- with no cheating.
