Bowling for Columbine
Starring: Michael Moore, Marilyn Manson, George W. Bush, Dick Clark, Charlton Heston
Directed by: Michael Moore
2002 Documentary
Heston is back, as the NRA's mouthpiece, getting shanghaied at home by Michael Moore in his Oscar-winning doc on America's obsession with guns, an obsession played out during the shootings at Columbine. Some think Moore pushes too hard on Heston, visibly infirm and battling Alzheimer's. But pushing hard, with an acid wit that can be condescending, is Moore's style. In return, we get a film that bristles with provocation. The DVD also includes reams of extras, mostly of Moore justifying his actions. The film speaks for itself.
