Frank Zappa found a countercultural niche blending fantasy, humor and sex. In the course of this 1976 Halloween performance, Zappa delivers deadpan monologues about Adam and Eve and disco, croons the love meditation "Broken Hearts Are for Assholes" and begs the devil to let him into hell ("Titties 'N' Beer"). Bruce Bickford's delightful Claymation interludes -- a hamburger chomps on a man's head, nudes morph into monsters and Volkswagens speed into nostrils -- are as warped and joyful as Zappa himself.
