Is another exciting experiment from director Richard Linklater, following Waking Life. Shot on high-definition video, this riveting, caustically funny film version of Stephen Belber's play stays confined to one dingy Michigan motel room where three characters, played by Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Robert Sean Leonard - all at the top of their game - open old wounds about a date rape. The wrenching result is impossible to shake.
