It's hard to believe, but thirty-one years ago Chevy Chase was the coolest guy in the world and SNL was the funniest show on TV. The first season reveals that not every 1975 skit was as funny as "Land Shark," and those Gerald Ford jokes do get a bit tired, but the music is as good as ever -- particularly the three-song Simon and Garfunkel reunion.
