Bonnaroo Music Festival 2002
Starring: Gov't Mule , Trey Anastasio , Bela Fleck , Edgar Meyer
The spirit of Woodstock was alive and well in Tennessee in June, when artists ranging from Trey Anastasio to Ween blissfully rocked out at the three-day Bonnaroo festival.
While jam bands ruled the weekend (especially Widespread Panic, whose set was one of late guitarist Michael Houser's last performances), the inclusion of Jurassic 5's old-school hip-hop and Buckethead's twisted guitar histrionics provided some much-needed diversity. Maybe too much -- cramming twenty-two acts onto two DVDs leaves room for only one or two songs per act -- but not enough to get a groove on.
