Bounced around NBC's 1999-2000 schedule, then axed after just twelve episodes, this note-perfect dramedy about two clusters of misfits in a Michigan high school circa 1980 never stood a chance. Our loss, because Freaks got the big picture (the comedic and dramatic synergism) and the details (the gifted, nonsupermodel teen cast) spot-on, earning both an Emmy and a place in the Too Good for Broadcast TV Hall of Fame.
