I will admit from the start; I love Kerri Russel. But despite my initial bias, both her preformance, and the film Waitress, have impressed me. Russel is a small town waitress, with big dreams, a talent for baking, and an abusive husband; the plot seems cliche, however the direction of the Shelley transforms a simple analysis into a creative, well acted

A good movie overall. The only thing I disliked were the one-
dimensional male characters - there was no substance, and the
dialogue was stilted. Nathan Fillion was solid throughout most
of the movie, but at the end he kind of regressed into the
territory occupied by the other men in the cast. At first I was
surprised by the neediness of the infantile Earl, but I now realize
that unfortunately, there are real people like that.

Loved this lushly stylized movie produced by the late Adrienne Shelly.
Story was authentic- characters warm, real and
perhaps from another time. No matter. How can you beat the exquisite Miss Russell as Jenna,
the ebuliant Cheryl Hines, Andy Griffin- what a classic.
Loved the soulful soundtrack and everything about this surefire winner.
