Jonathan Hock's polished documentary about eminently marketable high-schooler Sebastian Telfair's decision to turn pro never quite reaches the lofty heights of Hoop Dreams. Still, with basketball-obsessed Coney Island as a backdrop, you can't help but root for the likable Telfair as he struggles with life as a ghetto superstar. Ultimately, Fire answers a no-brainer: to escape a life in the projects, should you A) go to college or B) accept $20 million from a sneaker company?
