The poster with Kate Hudson in those hideous Ugg boots suggests a cutesy, calculating load of girlish drool. The poster doesn't lie. The movie stars Hudson as a shallow wanna-be fashionista who gains maturity by raising her dead sister's three kids. Despite Joan Cusack, whose comic spark earns the film its only star, Raising Helen is like tumbling into chick-flick hell.
