Two full-figured Latina women, a mother (Lupe Ontiveros) and daughter (America Ferrera), argue about food, sex, education and life in an L.A. sweatshop. Patricia Cardoso's first film is a marvel of pointed humor, and Ontiveros and Ferrera could not be better.
