In its weekly TV setting, Lost is a compulsively watchable, emotionally involving critical and popular hit. Each cast member gets shine time; the best flashbacks involve Charlie (Dominic Monaghan), who pre-crash was a "rock god" in the Oasis-inspired Driveshaft. But the scrutiny allowed by this seven-disc set exposes the show's key flaw: Lost's characters are clearly either heroes or villains, thus removing the moral ambiguities that would make it deeply compelling.
