This ramshackle documentary follows ex-Mr. Show star David Cross during a 2002 cross-country stand-up tour. Cross headlines shitty clubs, battles hecklers, plays pranks on club owners and interacts with a series of drunken bystanders who seem to have no idea who he is. The stand-up footage is excellent, too - much of it also appears on Cross' 2002 album, Shut Up, You Fucking Baby! There's plenty of astute political humor and self-deprecating one-liners, plus slams directed at Cross' sometimes indifferent audiences. christian hoard
