Alison Krauss and Union Station - Live
Throughout half of this Louisville, Kentucky, performance, Allison Krauss invests catchy plaints with organic airs of serene gravity. Elsewhere, she fiddles as Union Station ace bluegrass, devoting themselves to pieces such as "The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn." The concert's highlight is Krauss animating "Ghost in This House," a Tammy Wynette-worthy ballad, with intense kitchen-sink depression. The sweetness, the Dobros, the unremittingly smug distance from Faith Hill -- it all yields really pristine, seemingly candlelit, entertainment.
