In this deliberately dumb comedy, Jack Black and Kyle Gass play wanna-be rock gods on a quest to find the guitar pick that holds the power of rockness. Lame plot, but surprising cameos (Ben Stiller as a Ronnie James Dio look-alike, and an awesome Tim Robbins as the D's deranged nemesis) keep things moving. Same goes for the neoclassical-metal tunes sprinkled throughout, which prove Black and Gass have the chops, just not any soul.

i loved this movie. i watched it with my boyfriend when it came into theaters. i laughed through the whole thing. it is a memorable movie. i love this movie.

when i was watching it, i'd probably give it 2 stars, but there are actually a lot of memorable moments that make it worthwhile. i agree with spock, the first 6 minutes are hilarious.

The movie started really well. Unfortunately the rest of the
movie didn't keep up. But the movie is still a must watch for
what its about: Rock and for Jack Black. Kyle ass is good too.
Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins were excellent in their cameos
too!
