This excellent neo-noir delves into the mystery surrounding the death by speeding bullet of George Reeves, the actor who reluctantly played Superman in the 1950s. Reeves is depicted here with a nuanced dignity by a doughy Ben Affleck, who deserves an Oscar nod -- one boozy look from Affleck's sad eyes illuminates the perils of fame and typecasting.
