As he proved in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, director Michel Gondry is an expert surrealist, and his latest has plenty of tripped-out imagery. Gael Garc’a Bernal plays a man-child who's bummed about his job assembling nudie calendars and seeks refuge in his own vivid subconscious. The plot is muddy, so if you fall asleep, call it an inspired snooze.
