Rapper gets crunk, praises booty, then talks about the Lord just seven months after David Banner dropped Mississippi the Album, he returns with MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water, another crunkified treatise on his home state. Banner's chafing growl still rules the roost, and there are return guest spots from Lil' Flip and Bone Crusher, as well as a Busta Rhymes-led remix of "Like a Pimp," MTA1's biggest hit. Banner's blend of the profane and the profound -- the way he follows trunk-bumping anthems like "Crank It Up" with more sobering tracks such as "My Lord" -- is sometimes exasperating. Still, that's the way it goes when you're baptized in dirty water, singing the Delta blues 2004-style.
