The title isn't quite accurate: This behemoth five–DVD/four–CD box does end — after 405 minutes. But like everything by these neo–prog demigods, Neverender tends toward sprawl, with shifting time signatures and Claudio Sanchez piping his helium–falsetto above rococo guitar polyphony. The box documents a four–night concert stand in October 2008, when the band played its complete multi–album emo–sci–fi tetralogy. It's really for die–hards who've been jonesing for a live version of "The Willing Well III: Apollo II: The Telling Truth." For the rest of us, it's a reminder of the pop smarts that lurk beneath the pomp and the chops.
