All the filth and fury of their Eighties heyday, finally funneled into an album Mötley Cüe have created a cottage industry out of rehashing their excesses: Their tales of debauchery have already fueled dozens of books and a standard-bearing episode of Behind the Music. Now they've woven those stories into their first album in eight years. Inspired by their 2001 sleazeography, The Dirt, Saints of Los Angeles finds Vince Neil flashing back to the band's golden age: gigging on the Sunset Strip, snorting powders, screwing the wrong girls and (later) filing lawsuits (the band sued its former manager last year). The trip down memory lane helps the Crüe connect to their old sound: Much of Saints rocks with the same raucous fun as their Eighties albums, delivering glam guitars and arena-size choruses on cuts like the wickedly catchy "Down at the Whisky." Contemporary radio rock creeps in on the angsty Staind-style ballad "The Animal in Me," which seems to concern Nikki Sixx's heroin addiction. But to show they're still bad boys and horndogs at heart, they also deliver the teenage-rebellion anthems "Face Down in the Dirt" and "This Ain't a Love Song" (second part of chorus: "This is a fuck song"). Fun fact: As of press time, all four members of Mötley Cüe are still alive.

After many years of waiting, I am not disappointed at all with the album. To produce an album of this standard representing a genre from two decades ago is an achievement. Aerosmith rebuilt their careers with outside writers, initially very much against Tyler's will and look at them!
This is a superb representation of everything that was great about Crue in the eighties, with touches of Manson and Linkin Park etc bringing it some contemporary credibility.
If you loved them then (and I did!) you will love this. The title track is great, but my favourite is Just Another Psycho. Buy it, you won't regret it.

I am absolutely amazed by Motley Crue's ability to sound raw. I wrote off the Crue as dead when they released New Tatoo. But they have shown that they can recreate the power of the 80's Motley Crue, while still capturing the innovation and creativity of the Corabi and Generation Swine albums. I was giddy when I first played the CD and was blown away by the haunting opening track as well as the Monster Power Chords in the second track. But the "fun" 80's band returns on track 4 Down At The Wisky, which would easily fit in with old songs from the greatest hits CD. The title track is dark like Shout At The Devil, but my favorites are The Animal In Me and Chicks=Trouble. A few tracks took time to grow on me, but there isn't a bad song on the album.

Well done! It isnt REALLY a Motley Album given all the outside writers on every song, but it is a GOOD rock album run through the Motley "sound filter", know what I mean? Its good, only one or two clunkers, and even they are growers. I'm surprised that they pulled it off!

Sound wise its a little dull on the drums, I actually had a hard time believing it was Tommy's kit at times, but as always, his playing is outright phenomenal. Mars is great, Vince has never sounded better. They won me back, I'm a fan again! Focused and driven.

An extroadinary album that brings in elements of new rock and the old eighties hair metal. Personally, I don't even like hair metal and I love this album. Ever since they cleaned up, Motley Crue has been making great records.

Motley Crue have revisited their glory days and made a safe album in 2008. It is a good album but nothing to rave about! The missing ingredient to this album is one man....BOB ROCK (The producer). If you want an album to sound big and in your face then Bob is the man for the job. He always producers the best music out of the entire artist he has worked with in his career so far.
With the greatest hits (Red, White & Crue) the 2 new songs ‘If I Die tomorrow’ and ‘SickLove Song’ showed that Motley were back in town but with the new album ‘Saints of LA’ it missing that hard rock sledgehammer.

Well, Crue definitely has returned, but I find that their stuff is a little too overdone. Though they do attempt their old style (Which was quite the attempt) they really just sound too, bland. They are quite the badn though so, here's to the classics...

Raw Crue... The badboys of rock are back, and these saints are ready kick your ass with a great new album. "Saints of Los Angeles", "MutherF***** of the Year", and a"This aint a love song" are classic Crue riffs. The vocals are not there on every song, but this is still a refreshing burst of solid Rock & Roll in an otherwise ever shrinking rock music market. I look forward to seeing this live.....
