I love Eddie Vedder's "Into the Wild!" The songs really speak to me. They are introspective and meaningful. Eddie did a great job and he really did an excellent job of capturing Chris McCandless and his journey! Every one of the songs has touched my heart and I listen to the CD every day... sometimes several times a day. I could not imagine any other person singing these songs! THANK YOU EDDIE! And I send thanks to Gordon Peterson for writing "Hard Sun" and Jerry Hannan for writing "Society." From beginnig to end the entire "Into the Wild" CD is awesome!

i am a husband and a father and happy to be but something about this album has made me question who i am. i love music and always have, i feel as if it is my religion and never have i've been so torn about who i am by listening to these beautiful songs. i'm to old to care about what others think of me and this music assures me that's ok. i was never blessed with the ability to sing or play an instrument and that has always pained me but i do believe i know how to express my thoughts through paper and this album has inspired me to do that better than i ever have. if you happen to read this eddie thank you

If you haven't read the book or know anything about Chris McCandless and his desire to be 'set free', you may not appreciate this album as much as those of us who have. Eddie Vedder has unmistakenly captured the story of
Chris McCandless and re-told it anew. Ed's ability to do this in a matter of 11 songs solidfies his place in modern music/song writing as one of--if not the best of our time. To listen to this album without knowing the story of Chris McCandless is undoubtedly great, but not whole.

It’s been a while since the album was released, but I didn’t find the words to say what I think about it, I haven’t found them yet, but all I have to say, it’s that this is a beautiful album. It delivers an incredible, finest and delicate job, by eddie vedder. Vedder shows a very mature and experimented/aged voice this time, with his enormous track “guaranteed”, which takes you to another level, it’s very simple but the meaning and the way he sings and he writes, you believe every line of the song. With two covers on it, “hard sun” and “society”, and the excellent performance by eddie, they complement the album. Mandolins and many more instruments, give a great and beautiful sound to the melodies. And like always, pearl jam offer you a rare and uncompromising track, and this time, vedder doesn’t make the exception, with “the wolf”. Maybe there could be more to offer with the ideas of each track, but they were made to fit exactly on the movie, a small taste, it’s what every song on this album is, and they will leave you wanting for more, but this is how it works. You cannot expect for more, in an album made for a movie, if you’re a fan of pearl jam, even of Dylan or Adams, you will love this one, this is a really awesome work, that you should own.

It's about interpretation and feeling. The story told is one that is personal and deep. Eddie does a magical job of touching all the deeply layered and personal nuances of this story. "Hard Sun" and the amazing (but I wish it longer)"No Ceiling" are my favorite tracks in what is an incredibly moving piece of work.

When friends used to ask me, 'what happened to Pearl Jam?', I would always reply what happened to you?!'
Pearl Jam, and in this case, specifically, Eddie Vedder have been underrated and disrespected through the years. Not many bands in any era have displayed the same integrity and conviction to their vision. That is why they are still around.
I have been hoping for an Eddie Vedder solo album for years, and it has finally been delivered. Yes.
A true musician creates music that captures where s/he is in his life. Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder have always done that.
Can't wait for the next Pearl Jam album.

Awesome. What all crazy Pearl Jam fans have been looking forward to... a solo effort with a bit of guitar, bit of banjo and a lot of Eddie. Moving, well written, perfect. That voice suits the songs so damn well... On Society...
