It's tempting to simply applaud Bareilles' capable Fiona Apple-on-Prozac homage for what it is: slightly edgy, stompy piano-based pop rock. That is, until she unfurls the earsplittingly impressive climax note of the Maroon 5-esque "Come Round Soon." Whether banging away at the driving "Love Song," turning slinky for "Bottle It Up" or getting contemplative on the gently orchestrated "City," Bareilles' writing voice is uniquely her own.

Sara Bereillis is definitely a force, one that has arrived with strength and demand, but also with a undeniable class, which is already an accomplishment during our current pop era. With her sweet, smooth yet deep and profound song arrangements, she will smolder her listeners without them realizing it, at least not until you turn it up in your car and rush home to find the face behind the sweeping rhythmic vocals. She could quiet the most bustling coffee shop and make them stop in their tracks with instant curiosity to her mischievous intro's "I could use another cigarette, but don't worry daddy I'm not addicted yet..." A 28 year old California native with more than a pocket full of love stories, that we all wanna know every detail about. Luckily, she gives it up in her debut album "Little Voice"... we know she knows her voice is anything but little, but we can appreciate her self assurance and let it inspire us to find our own inner voice, however little it may be. Her fearless lyrics put to words what we just don't have the nerve to put down on paper (Im not scared of you no/there's no reason to run, although I may). Thanks Sara! You're talent has got your back, and for that we do to.
