“It’s not news when you got into bed!” rails Duff against the Paris Hiltons of the world, over Gwen Stefani-style techno-lite beats. For her fourth record, the nineteen-year-old Duff set out to make an adult dance-pop record, with surprisingly successful results. “You’re not the person that I once knew,” she sings on “Stranger,” presumably speaking to her ex, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. “Did I ever do anything that cruel to you?” The best dig is on “Danger,” where she ridicules the advances of an older man with the following put-down: “Were you born in ’74?”

Hilary Duff comes out with her latest album, "Dignity", her best cd to date, it's more grown-up with more adult lyrics, and
her voice has gotten way better than when she first started. "Stranger" the first song on the album is a great opening song, its very powerful with amazing beats and strong lyrics. Next, is "Dignity" a song poking fun at all celebrities who keep losing their underwear. The hit "With Love" follows with a very impressing voice coming from Hilary, love it! My favorite off this cd, is "Gypsy Woman", the best song, with her telling us her life, through her words. Two other songs "Burned" and "Happy" are great songs, to me some of the best songs on the album, but they kind of sound the same, you will think that it's the same song, but don't get me wrong their fabulous. "Outside of You" and "Play With Fire" finish out the cd, and it's a really strong finish to a great album. I love Hilary but there are song u should stay away from, like "No Work, All Play and Danger"

Hillary Duff changes what we saw in the other albums (music for teenagers)... And makes music for adults! There goes the time when she was a blond young teenager singing! Now she presents techno beats very worked and more adult lyrics talking about her life. ''Stranger'' and ''With Love'' are two good examples off that. She's with a new look and I aprove it!

A nice attempt for Hilary Duff most grown up album up to date. Her music is turning to electro-pop and less rock/pop style; which is the changes i most notice on Dignity.
Dignity has so much intimacy on her life, but i do notice that she might have lose her 'soul' to every songs in the album.
But this might an album to buy.

All songs are attractively powerful, exception for 'I wish' which I thought was totally bubblegum and cheap!

~Her next single 'Stranger' will be quite amazing i think, many preview picture on the internet had her on Indian-style clothings..

I'll be waiting for her 5th album

A most enjoyable pop product and one of the most re-playable of the year so far. As with Britney Spears or (the even more-viciously-derided) Ashlee Simpson, the issue of whether Hilary Duff can actually sing is moot here, since much of the heavy lifting for this type of teen pop is usually left to the backing musicians and producers anyways. All that matters is: Is the final product any good? The answer: An emphatic "YES!" While not reaching the delirious abandon of Simpson at her best on "I Am Me," at the very least Duff's voice is rendered unobtrusive by processing and at the very best is a playfully bouncing ball of energy that complements the poppy music, itself an amalgam of modernized retro-'80s beats that recall various shades of Blondie, the Human League, Depeche Mode, New Order, freestyle dance, Foreigner, Genesis, Bryan Adams, Pat Benetar, and more recent influences as No Doubt (itself '80s-influenced) and Spears. And like Simpson, Huff gets by here on sheer moxie. (Contrast this to the lackluster lethargy of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton on their albums. Simply posing does not translate well on disc.) What pushes Huff's album above those by Spears and earns Huff extra points is her (or her handlers') judgment in wisely avoiding the "slow, treacly ballad" (a la "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman") that drags lesser albums down and would expose the fact that she is no Christina Aguilera. And there is something to be said for catchy lyrics that are easily sung-along to and easy to decipher. Not every album has to be lyrically challenging as those by some underground artist or even REM or Bob Dylan. (And come to think of it -- Dylan's not much of a singer these days, either, without some help in the studio!) Just as the baseball player Jeff Kent addressed whiny and b*tchy critics, "Just enjoy the game!" Teen pop is what it is, and in similar company, "Dignity" simply stands out: strong enough to be a "Greatest Hits" collection on its own. Standout tracks include: "Play with Fire" (Foreigner or Yes in dance-pop incarnation); "Stranger" (New Order meets "I'm a Slave 4 U" middle-Eastern flourish); the Gwen Stefanish title track...but with every track a winner, what's the point in playing favorites? ;)

I'm not a person who flips out b/c I hear something new about Hilary Duff but I have noticed her and watched her grow from being on Casper Meets Wendy to what she is now. I do give her props b/c I think she is doing an amazing job with constantly being in the spotlight (she could be partying and throwing a Paris Hilton, Nichole Richie, Lindsay Lohan/ Britney Spears right now and shes not.) I have bought all of her CDs (not for myself) for my little sister. I am a year younger then Hilary and I do kind of look up to her. I think everyone can safely say that they would rather her be their childs rolemodel and not Britney Spears. She has acomplished alot in her life so far (and is young... PEOPLE DO STUPID STUFF WHEN THEY ARE YOUNG) So give her a break. If she wants to lash out let her do it in song at least she is not on drugs! Oh and that first line is "Its not news when you get a new BAG" not "get into bed!"
