Five albums in, this ten-year-old Seattle noise-punk band sounds more fired up than ever. Singer Jordan Blilie's holler is so fierce and androgynous, he sometimes sounds like Karen O at her most feral. On Young Machetes, the band takes power forward with a mix of early Sonic Youth-style destroy-your-guitar antics and breakneck hardcore punk. Unfortunately, Blood Brothers don't actually make you scared, which any good noise band should. There's less danger here than just motion sickness.
