U2 definitely owns maturity and adult songwriting skills but loses disrespect and subversive, great statement on previous albums like the brilliant debut "Boy".

This is probably the best U2 album but it is not a perfect album in a retro aspect. Time has past and U2 has actually produced better songs then this. It's their own fault that this CD has aged, but it is still a good album. The reason is the undeadly emotional songs about complex relationships. "Where streets have no name", "still haven't found", "with or without you" and "one tree hill" will always be among their best songs ever and part of every best of compilation in the future.

What else can I Say? This is a masterpiece that transcend genres... I was 13, on a trip to Disney World, and on my Walkman(remember them?) I had the Joshua Tree playing from beginning tp end. I reliazed that the real Magic Kigmdon was playing in my ears and not some ride I had to stand in line for an hour... from that moment on, I had become a U2 faithful...

The album where U2 finally put all together. The rigetous anger of War (see Bullet The Blue Sky) and the beautiful textures of The Unforgetable Fire (see With Or Without You and the beautiful closer Mother's Of The Disapperaed). Whether taken one song at a time or as the band's love letter to America, this is one of the few truly timeless albums.
