Great music to relax to, songs that can play in the background in any setting. While this will never be an arena filling set list, it is great sounding music. Tom put together some very talented musicians around him and they pumped out some great sounds. The review of this album is sad, as this sounds much better than a "2", sadly though it will never get the airplay it deserves to prove Chrtian Hoard wrong. You can hear the music of "We Don't Need to Whisper" on the title track to "Two-a-Days" the hit MTV series and several other shows and movies. Great stuff, very under-rated.

"Unfortunately it's just too damn boring and redundant."
First off I thought this album was very very good. Its not boring, and the reason why its not boring is because it sends a message of hope, faith, and fiding your way out of a painful situation.Second off I really cant see how its "redundant". That would mean its dark and negative. While it might he some dark material its also hopeful not everything in life is all happy and good. It never is never will be and is never intended to be. While I love Blink 182 I think that everyone needs to reliaze they arent coming back. Like Tom said he was 16 when he stared the band hes 30 now and he has grown. Everyone grows up and Tom did a very brave thing to quit so he could be there for his family. He deserves the upmost respect for that.....even if people dont like him.

Horrible review. The album does not end with the space-rock of The War. The last song is "Start the Machine" - if you actually listened. This is the most hyped up album in recent times, and it was never going to live up to that hype. Tom DeLonge himself heralded the album as "the best music made in decades!" The last Blink 182 album came close to a power punk/emo perfection, and had they continued, they would certainly not have gone off in this direction. DeLonge is clear in what he is trying to do, and that is not to make another Blink record. The first thing he does is find a new guitar sound. Apart from the Boxcar sounding "The War", and darker Blink-sounding "It Hurts", no song on this album really contains Tom's signature buzz-saw guitar riffs. The music is layered with electronic soundscapes, long intros and outros, and DeLonge's singing is backed up with Joshua Tree style guitar-playing and big 80's drumming in the choruses. DeLonge has already said he is going for the whole U2/Coldplay epic thing, clearly evident from the bass line and Edge guitars on the thunderous album opener "Valkyrie Missile." The result is music that is much easier on the ears and more melodic than Blink 182 could ever be. This leads to one of the flaws with the record. Some of the songs on here like "A Little's Enough" and "Good Day", while they are strong on lyrics, are too mid tempo, and the long outros get repetitive and boring. This repetition works well on the excellent and spacey album closer "Start the Machine", and the strong chorus on "The Gift" (that instantly reminds me of U2's "Still haven't found what I'm looking for." The dark, intense lyrics on this album, with war-time metaphors like "The houses, laid out like targets, with the deafening sound, we watched them all go down" are buoyed by positive, uplifting choruses like "I think I like today, I think it's good, it's something I can't get my head around." DeLonge's famous whine is at its best on The Gift singing "And now, I'll stop the storm if it rains, I'll light a path far from here, I'll make your fear melt away, and the world we know disappear." The overwhelming message on this album is tomorrow could be the best day of your life, best summed up on the great first single "The Adventure". "Here we go, life's waiting to begin." This music might not go down well with some of those "emo" kids who want their music to validate their pseudo-depression, but as DeLonge sings out the album, you can't help but join him in his positivity. "If love's a word that you say, then say it, I will listen!"

I've not heard all of 'We Don't Need To Whisper.' I can't even say I remember the names of the songs I've heard on the radio and seen on TV. What I can say is Tom Delonge sings like a fifteen year old. I'm not talking about his attitude or his writing or anything. He just sings like a kid. And it sounds bad, annoyingly bad. The music isn't bad, but it's nothing special or new or different. It's just not bad. Which isn't good enough for me to give them more than a two. There's nothing here that can't be found somwhere else already, done better with more imagination and originality. Angels and Airwaves is a band swimming in a pool of mediocrity.

By the time you get past the oh so long intro's to almost every song, you do hear something not bad from Angels and Airways.
Tom's voice has deffinately matured on this disc as appose to that of the 'blink era'
Worth the listen once you skip the extremely on-going introductions to all the tracks.

I have been an avid blink-182 and box car racer fan since I first heard their music. I bought We Don't Need To Whisper on the release date and thought it was an awesome album. It takes time to grow on you. But everyting on the album is awesome, drums (not as good as travis barker), guitar, bass and of course tom's signature vocals. all round, i cant wait for next angels and airwaves album.

This Album is truely epic and inspiring. This album definately standsout among many I have heard over the years. It has a positive meaning tht just makes you feel alive. Unlike most bands that can easily be catagorized as Punk, Emo, Metal, Indie, etc. Angels and Airwaves' music is in a category of its own. I'll admit that Tom Delonge has generated a little too much hype about this album. Angels and Airwaves need s a little work before it can become, as Tom Delonge quotes, "The Greatest Band in the world". A band can't just become a worldwide epic after only releasing one album. U2 and Pink Floyd didn't get that way overnight. "We Don't Need to Whisper" is definately one of my favorite albums right now but I have even higher hopes for Angels and Airwaves' next album. I still believe that it will take some time for Blink fans to truely appreciate Tom Delonge's new band but as time goes on people will have to accept the fact that Blink-182 isn't coming back.

I bought this cd and I enjoy it,although all the songs might sound the same i think we have to remember the whole cd is like a movie and it wouldnt make quite sense to change the riff in the music,I really like the lyrics and its very mellow . I dont think were gonna see Blink 182 back together although i would quite enjoy that,so i thinks its great where hes settled and im looking forward to whats in store and will definately purchase there next cd as well
