In a new video message, members of the Russian punk collective Pussy Riot thank Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Björk, Green Day and more for their support while they burn a poster of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We've been fighting for the right. . . to change our country," say the group, wearing their signature sock masks as they rappel down a building to reveal a massive Pussy Riot poster and a large image of Putin, which is set ablaze. "The fight for freedom is an endless battle that is bigger than life," the group proclaims.
Three members of Pussy Riot were sentenced to two years each in prison for "hooliganism" and are appealing their convictions. Other members of the group have fled Russia to avoid arrest.
