Occupy Wall Street strapped for cash

During its peak days in Zuccotti Park in October 2011, Occupy Wall Street had a considerable war chest, with around $700,000 in donations. Reports now put the total value of the movement's funds between $170,000 and $300,000, with less than $30,000 in donations received in January. The first half of October saw around $330,000 coming in from supporters. In response to the decreased cash flow, the group has instituted a temporary spending freeze. [New York Magazine]
