U.S. on Republicans: "Wrong Track"

By |

According to the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll, 69 percent of Americans think the country is on the wrong track. Sixty-three percent disapprove of the way the GOP Congress is handling its job. Only 34 percent definitely plan to reelect their Congressional representation in November.

Across nine key issues ranging from Iraq, to gas prices, to immigration, to taxes, to the war on terror, the country believes Democrats would do a better job than Republicans. And by generally strong margins. Only on the question of terror is the Democratic edge even close: Five percent.

The poll fails to ask, however, about Iran, which according to other recent polls is the lone issue on which the GOP has a leg left to stand.
