Bush Threatens N. Korea: Uh Oh

Okay, the North Korean regime is really, really weird. And they're busily building nukes. But now the Bush administration is rattling its sabre against North Korea, as if it doesn't already have its hands full with Afghanistan, Iraq, and the war its muttering about against Iran, too.

Here's the money quote, from the State Department's Christopher Hill (and it's a scary one):

We are not going to live with a nuclear North Korea, we are not going to accept it. It can have a future or it can have these weapons. It cannot have both.

I don't know about you, but telling a country it won't have "a future" sounds like a threat to wipe it off the map. Didn't Iran's president get in trouble for saying that about Israel?

Yes, the North Koreans are blustering about testing a nuke. That's bad. But I wouldn't trust the Bushies, for whom war is always the answer, to handle this one with skill.
