Condi Rice's State Department seems to have learned a trick or two from Tony Blair's government.
Remember when the Brits declared Saddam could launch a WMD attack in 45 minutes? Now the State Department is circulating the truthy claim that Iran could produce the enriched uranium it needs for a bomb in just over two weeks.
Sounds plenty scary. Just not true.
But the administration is looking for isn't that level of subtlety. They want headlines that makes Iran look like an imminent threat. Hell, "grave and gathering" would do.
A sobering reminder: The latest National Intelligence Estimate puts Iran 10 years away from a nuclear bomb.
