Yesterday in this space, Rolling Stone's Tim Dickinson wrote about how progressives have pulled off a string of recent social media-powered wins against various right-wing causes, like successfully pressuring big corporations to pull out of the nefarious American Legislative Exchange Committee, drafter of pick-up-and-pass wingnut legislation for state lawmakers. He took up the same theme last night on Eliot Spitzer's Current TV show, Viewpoint, appearing with Mother Jones's excellent Andy Kroll. A Twitter movement "builds with huge groups of people and it builds around something as simple as a hashtag," says Kroll. Tim adds: "these corporations are just terrified of getting just taken apart on these social media sites and having their brand and their reputation really dismantled." Check it out:
