Bush's approval rating has sunk to a new low. In a Fox News poll, no less. Thirty-three percent.
(And just in case you were curious if Fox's polling was somehow less "fair and balanced" than its political reporting, check out this survey question, which sounds like it was crafted by Sean Hannity himself: "Do you think illegal immigrants from Mexico should be given special treatment and allowed to jump in front of immigrants from other countries that want to come to the United States legally, or not?")
A couple other intriguing data points: There's only forty-percent approval for dumping Rummy nationwide, and while fifty-seven percent of Democrats want him gone, a full fifty-three percent think replacing him will make no difference.
The poll also highlights an American optimism gap that's worthy of more study: Seventy-one percent of Republicans are optimistic about what the next ten years will bring. Only fifty-one percent of Democrats say the same. Why are Democrats such sourpusses?
