First Exit Polls Consistent With Wave Election: National Issues, Corruption Seen Driving Votes


Raw Story has a peek at the first exit polling data.

62% of Americans voted on national issues when chosing their congressperson. In 2006 all politics wasn't local. Given the sour national mood that's potentially devastating news for GOP hopefuls.

Worse for the Republicans, the top issue on voters' minds was corruption cited by 42%, followed by Terrorism, The Economy, and Iraq.
