Colbert on the GOP's Latino Problem


"Republicans will need to work hard to capture the Latino vote," noted Stephen Colbert on last night's Report, "instead of their current strategy of capturing Latinos." Mitt Romney likes to play up his deep ties with Hispanics, ties that...apparently run only one way: If the general election were held today, Romney would net a whopping 14 percent of the Latino vote, versus Obama's 70 percent. (And this despite Obama's get-tough immigration policies, which have angered lots of Latinos.) That being said, 16 percent are still undecided, and if Romney managed to win them over, "he...would still lose very badly." Watch the clip:
