Barely Bi-Partisan... And at What Cost?


The Senate finance committee has passed its healthcare bill with the help of one Republican, Olympia Snowe of Maine.

What was the cost of that bi-partisanship? The Senate finance bill insures 8 million fewer Americans (excluding all undocumented immigrants) than the House bill.

Forget the debate over the public option for a second. The Senate finance committee bill sacrifices something far more important: universal coverage.
