Inside Bruce Springsteen's Rolling Stone Cover Shoot
Behind the scenes with photographer Albert Watson on the set of Issue 1071
Besides shooting for RS and Vogue and directing commercials, Watson spent the past three years documenting life in Las Vegas. Still, Watson found plenty of time for Springsteen, who worked to carve out time for his shoot. "As always with these, they have a tight agenda," Watson explained. "I'm OK for time, but in the end they're not. They are pretty tight. I've photographed him before and he's very nice. They're always nice to the photographers. … I grabbed a shot of him in his garden. And we went to another house of his, and he had a library there where he would do some writing. We just left everything as it was. … I like the music, but I'm very impressed by him — his performing and his personae. I think that's impressive."
