Sasquatch 2008: R.E.M., The Cure, The Flaming Lips and More

Rather than reproduce the dense, nuanced sound of their albums, the Cure's live set was aggressive, straight-ahead alt-rock. Robert Smith's voice retained its necessary adolescent yearning, though he remained draped over the mike stand most of the night, letting a bombastic, eyelinered Porl Thompson handle most of the charisma via lead guitar.
