According to a press release, after years of speculation, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe announced at South by Southwest that bandmates Mike Mills and Peter Buck are both heterosexual, or "straight." Stipe declared his relief and acknowledged that this turn of events was welcomed news, congratulating their courage and candidness.
