Interpol Backstage at Madison Square Garden
Rolling Stone checks in with the band hours before their debut gig at New York's historic venue
Interpol did their best to act like the evening's show was just like any other, but MSG's reputation loomed large. "I think it's better to wait for the momentous feelings until after you play," frontman Paul Banks explained. "There's no benefit, as far as your focus or how the gig goes, to acting beforehand like it's this momentous occasion; but it is a momentous occasion. I'll relish that after we play a really good show."
