James Blunt
All the Lost Souls
Out Now

For "All the Lost Souls," James Blunt teamed again with producer Tom Rothrock, his partner on 2006's Back to Bedlam, which featured the megasmash "You're Beautiful." But while there are some sonic similarities between Blunt's two discs -- "Songs that are raw and emotional," he says -- there are some real differences: Blunt recorded this album with his touring band, adding instrumental depth, and the lyrics encompass not only the relationships between two people but the public scrutiny Blunt has endured during his ascent to stardom. "I can't escape the fact that people are watching," Blunt says. "For me, things are a little more intense these days. These ten songs" -- including the disco-tinged single "1973" -- "cover the last three and a half years, about the experiences along the way."
